LINDA POOLE COMMUNITY PROFILE
Linda Poole is the founder of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival. She fell in love with the annual Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival while travelling abroad with her husband a (Canadian ambassador). Upon her return home to Vancouver she was inspired and ready to share.
The first Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival took place in 2006 and continues to grow each year. Linda expresses her gratitude to Japan for the original five-hundred cherry blossom tree’s that were sent as gifts to Vancouver. The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the power of natural beauty, counting one's blessings, appreciating the simple things, new beginnings, and the joy of love. Cultural events take place throughout out the festival; poetry readings, kite dances, and art shows (just to name a few.)

We are extremely grateful to have Linda Poole be a part of not just our Vancouver community; but for her to be a part of the Movement community. She has been a great client and the vibrant colours she chooses to wear are an expression of the inner brightness she carries with her. Her passion for bringing forward what inspires her truly shows in the joy that VCBF creates in the city. Kobayashi Issa once wrote, “there is no stranger under the cherry tree.” This line rings especially true for us at Movement Global; there are no strangers inside our store.
